We are the dedicated organic specialists in Scotland

We represent more organic businesses in Scotland than any other organisation.

Our two core areas of work are Certification and Member Support.

We adopt a pragmatic approach in all that we do:

  • Certification
    All SOPA members are certified independently by our contractors OF&G (Scotland) Ltd under the organic certification code GB-ORG-17.‍
  • Development and Member Support
    Our Support Team offer free advice, business support and mentoring to SOPA Members. All our support staff are qualified to post graduate achievement in organic farming, food processing and marketing. Our team are rooted in farming and crofting, with practising organic farmers and hands-on livestock and crop-growing experience. We also advise on a wide range of organic food and drink specialities, including markets and supply chains.

All OF&G (Scotland) Ltd staff working on the SOPA organic scheme are qualified to postgraduate achievement in organic farming or food processing and marketing.  The OF&G (Scotland) Ltd team are rooted in farming and crofting: with practising organic farmers, and hands-on livestock and crop-growing experience.

The Organic Processing team bring a wide range of organic food and drink experience including micro-biology and technical expertise as well as food marketing and supply chain qualifications. SOPA staff alone bring more than 40 years' combined experience in the UK organic scene.
