Ms Rosa Holt

Farm Adviser

Rosa is a farmer's daughter who was inspired by the combination of nature and science and went on to become a registered Dietitian working as a specialist in critical care for the NHS and as a Lecturer for the Robert Gordon University while working on a mixed farm predominantly with livestock.

She has since completed an MSc in Organic Farming with SRUC during which time she started a small turkeys for Christmas enterprise ‘Wild Turkeys’ founded on agroecological principles. Her passion for this way of farming and food production was recognised as she received a Highly Commended in the Young Organic Farmer of the year Award in 2021.

As a dietitian, Rosa sits on the Sustainable Diets committee for the British Dietetic Association. The group are dedicated to enhancing professional and public awareness of all aspects of food sustainability. Within this role, Rosa provides advice from the environmental and agricultural perspective.

Rosa is a Farm Advisor for Soil Association Exchange where she supports farmers to optimise performance and productivity while aiming to enhance the farming environment. The farms she works with are typically dynamic with constant innovation driving progress.

With all this is mind, Rosa understands the relationship between farming, diet quality and provenance as key drivers for our health and believes that agriculture holds many of the solutions for the future for our environment and public health.
