Time for well deserved recognition in the Agriscot Awards

Scotland’s annual farm business event, AgriScot, which takes place at Ingliston each November, also plays host to a range of awards, each designed to reward and recognise those within Scottish farming who are doing something a little different or over and above the norm.

Scotland’s annual farm business event, AgriScot, which takes place at Ingliston each November, also plays host to a range of awards, each designed to reward and recognise those within Scottish farming who are doing something a little different or over and above the norm.  If you have never considered entering before, or if you’ve simply never got around to it, here’s a run down of the categories available. If you’re eligible in a category that has already closed, why not put the date in the diary for next year?

Business Skills – awarded to the student between the ages of 18 and 25 who best demonstrates their farm business management skills. Entry deadline to be announced.

Product Innovation – an historically popular award which seeks out the very best in new products and agri technology. Entry deadline to be announced

Beef Farm of the Year - a great opportunity to showcase and reward all of the hard work and dedication in the sheep sector.  Application deadline – 5 September

Sheep Farm of the Year - the agricultural industry is under increasing pressure to strike a balance between tackling emissions, boosting biodiversity, and bolstering productivity, and Scotland’s sheep farmers have a brilliant story to share. Application deadline – 5 September

Dairy Farm of the Year – entries closed

Diversified Farm of the Year - celebrate businesses which have invested in time and resource to develop an additional income stream, alongside day-to-day farming practices. The judges are keen to see a wide range of applicants come forward, who can demonstrate excellent customer service, collaboration, support for their community and a willingness to adapt to the changing landscape.    Application deadline – 19 September
