Event - North East Organic Discussion Group 13 March 2018
Date: Tuesday 13th March (booking essential)
Time: 1pm to 4.30pm
Location: Boardroom, Ferguson Building, SRUC Aberdeen Campus, Craibstone Estate, Aberdeen AB21 9YA followed by tour of Craibstone SAC Consulting Veterinary Centre
This year gets off to an excellent start with Debs Roberts, SOPA's Organic Policy Manager, providing an organic market update. Then the discussion will move to animal health planning, in particular the control of fluke and worms, with Tim Geraghty, Veterinary Centre Manager, SAC Consulting.
Tim will also host a tour of the vet lab at Craibstone. There is a very knowledgeable team based at the Aberdeen campus and they will describe the wide range of services that are available, including post mortem examinations, diagnostic testing, investigation of emerging diseases, planned approaches to flock/herd health and disease surveillance. This is a great opportunity not to be missed.
Please note to gain access to the lab attendees must be 16 years old or over, and for health and safety expectant mothers will not be allowed into the lab rooms.
If you want to know more about the meeting or the discussion group in general please contact Aileen Buchanan, SAC Consulting Elgin on 01343 548787 or e: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please contact Aileen by Tuesday 6th March to book your place.
The North East Organic Farming Discussion Group has been established and funded through the Farm Advisory Service (FAS), facilitated by SAC and now in its second year. The group is Free to join for existing organic producers and those considering converting their business to organic management within the North East area. The meetings provide a fantastic opportunity to find out about organic farming, to get together to exchange ideas, learn from each other and hear about current research.
