We make it our business to keep up to date with all of the organic supply chain

A substantial amount of Scotland's organic food is 'exported' to major markets in England and often beyond UK shores.

Some organic food is produced and retailed direct to the consumer in a short supply chain, and these businesses require special skills in marketing, branding and selling in addition to the knowledge of how to produce, prepare and process food safely and to the organic regulation.

Much of our organic produce is traded within the agricultural sector, either direct to other farmers or through associated support industries such as animal feeds and other inputs to the farm system.

Developing markets is part of our commitment to the financial sustainability of our members
